It would work better as “I’ll be sad when I assemble the motherboard.”

The “will” that’s contracted into “I’ll” sets the event in the future already so you don’t need the extra “will” in there after “when”.

Either:
I will be sad when I have assembled the motherboard.(not when Iwill)
or:
I will be sad when the motherboard is assembled.
